The Quarter burst onto the Liverpool scene in early 2004, Front man Anthony Godfrey- a bizarre mix of rock god, comic genius andman in the street philosopher never fails to whip the crowd into a state of hysteria with his energetic stomping and manic stage presence, coupled with a passionate and heartfelt delivery of carefully crafted lyrics, he creates an audience rapport rarely witnessed in British music today. Although comparison may pick up on the influences The Quarter embody a fresh and diverse sound of their own, with catchy melodic riffs and wry observations. With a hectic gig and recording schedule in the months ahead The Quarters star is undoubtedly in the ascendant.

The Isle Of Wight Bestival

Just returned from playing at this years Isle Of Wight Bestival
Arrived Friday @ 3.00pm,after traveling for a real long time( Liverpool) Got really drunk, Set up camp (don't try this method, Set up first!) Had some food got more drunk and other things?, watched some really good performances, too many to mention while diminishing our life span with every passing hour, but having a belter of a first night, crashed out around 2-3am and that was that.

Saturday, woke up around 10-11? went into village to have breakfast (cheats!-very nice though) got back an hour later, and it all started again, got drunkish, we played at 3.00pm on the X-Box stage, were we arrived at stage about 1.00pm done the usual, meet the staff/do (brief) sound check/wait around, and then!...Bang
We kick in with are first track, (Somerset) off to a good start as all went well the crowd of people that were present and passing got into it and the haze spread, more came over, we start the next tune and the lead guitarists turns and smacks a big piece of wood (part of the stage) with his gtr, out goes that . change of gtr, not good!! but the people stay and more gather too, sorted with the guit' thing, and it's back to business, 3rd song more come, 4th song more come and were on this trailer type stage, and a load of umpa lumpas come over and all start dancin, by the time the 6th or 7th tune's been played there's quite a few heads in front of us, track 8 then 9 and on to the last one, and the crowds heavin', by now Ant the lead singer must of lost about half a stone, the rest of us not far behind, Blood Shot Red Rollin' kicks in, a couple of bars into it and the audience are clapin' dancin' bouncin' stompin'...  mosh time!, after almost an hour of sheer madness, the now frenzied crowd crave more only the schedule disagreed so after a few random rock chants, and a excellent time, our show sadly came to an end, we stripped our gear down, packed it all in the van (2 amps and couple of gtrs) off that goes, say thanks to the staff and thats us, back on the booze, and the rest of the night is unknown.

Wake up Sunday about 10:30 (its the manager) and we all head out to the beach for an hour or two, after a few splashes, a game of footy and a Sunday roast it's back to the fezy to do a bit of shoppin' for souvenirs before for the grand finale, 9.00pm and The Head Lining Band kick in and the whole place erupts to The Scissor Sisters who put on around an hour an a half of a top draw show, then the night descended into oblivion.
Get up at 7:30 am  (sore head)  get all the tents together  and head off  home,
we arrive home around 4.00pm Monday with sore calves (Of A Big Steep Hill) heavy hang overs and lots of top memories (caught on camara) bring on the next one, hope to see yous there.
